Thrilling Showdown at Wankhede Stadium

The T20 Mumbai League 2026 is gearing up for an exhilarating conclusion as the MSC Maratha Royals, the reigning champions, prepare to face Arcs Andheri in the final match at Wankhede Stadium this Saturday. Earlier in the day, the venue will also host a historic event with the inaugural final of the Nuvama Private T20 Mumbai Women’s League, featuring SOBO Mumbai Falcons against Aakash Tigers MWS.

In the men's final, both teams are in excellent form. Arcs Andheri, captained by Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube, secured their spot in the final after defeating Aakash Tigers MWS by five wickets in the semi-finals, as reported in a press release.

On the other hand, MSC Maratha Royals successfully defended their title with a hard-fought three-wicket victory over North Mumbai Panthers, led by Ajinkya Rahane, in the second semi-final.

While Andheri has been a consistent performer this season, the Royals, under Siddhesh Lad, have demonstrated their ability to excel under pressure. This final promises to be an intriguing clash between Dube's dynamic leadership and Lad's strategic calmness as both teams vie for the prestigious trophy.

Dube praised the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for the seamless organization of the tournament, expressing excitement for the upcoming final. He stated, “The MCA has put together an incredible league, one of the best in India. The quality of the matches has been outstanding, and I’m really looking forward to the final.”

Lad also expressed confidence ahead of their second consecutive final, saying, “This has been a fantastic campaign built on teamwork and resilience. Different players have stepped up at various times, which has brought us to this point. For the final, we will keep our focus on the process, win the small moments, and enjoy the occasion. If we do that, we give ourselves a strong chance of winning.”

Under the leadership of MCA President Ajinkya Naik and League Governing Council Chairman Rajdip Gupta, the league has highlighted the emerging talents of Mumbai cricket, including stars like Arjun Tendulkar and Musheer Khan. The tournament has also seen remarkable individual performances, with Bandra Blasters captain Suved Parkar leading the batting charts with 250 runs, including a century and two fifties, earning him the Orange Cap. Arcs Andheri’s Ajay Mishra tops the bowling charts with 10 wickets, claiming the Purple Cap.

Other notable players include Nutan Goel from Triumph Knights MNE with 242 runs, Aakash Tigers' Jay Bista with 225 runs, and Divyaansh Sksena contributing 210 runs for Andheri. Additionally, Shashwat Jagtap from Eagle Thane Strikers is another centurion in the tournament, while Sylvester D’souza's five-wicket haul stands out as the best bowling performance of the season.

In the women's league, the SOBO Mumbai Falcons, led by Sayali Satghare, will compete against Humairaa Kaazi’s Aakash Tigers MWS for the inaugural title. The Tigers have a strong batting lineup, while the Falcons will depend on their effective bowling attack that has consistently performed well throughout the tournament.

Sayali emphasized her team's collective strength, noting that various players have contributed significantly throughout the competition. “The best aspect of our team is that everyone has played a role in different matches. In our three victories, we had different Players of the Match, which shows we’re not reliant on just one or two individuals. This is a positive sign as we head into the final. All players are executing their roles effectively, and we’re all looking forward to a fantastic game of cricket,” she remarked.

Humairaa also expressed confidence in her team's ability to overcome challenges leading up to the final. “Reaching the final feels amazing. We have grown stronger with each match and demonstrated great character as a team. We’ve faced various challenges, and the way the team has responded under pressure has been impressive. We’re excited for the final and the chance to compete for the title. It’s a significant occasion, and we aim to enjoy the moment, play well, and give our best,” she stated.

Among the top performers in the women's tournament, Sanika Chalke of Aakash Tigers leads the run-scoring with 205 runs, including two half-centuries. Mansi Patil from Thane Sky Risers follows with 166 runs, while Sarika Koli from the Falcons has contributed 108 runs. In terms of bowling, Falcons captain Sayali has been exceptional with nine wickets, including a four-wicket haul, supported by Swara Jadhav and Nirmiti Rane, who have taken eight and five wickets, respectively.
