Bravo Praises Bowling Performance Amidst Defeat

New Delhi [India] April 22: Dwayne Bravo, the mentor for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), expressed his admiration for the bowlers who managed to keep Gujarat Titans (GT) under 200 runs, providing a glimmer of hope for victory in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Monday.

He noted, however, that the team did not achieve the desired start during the power play, which ultimately contributed to their defeat.

“Clearly, we didn’t accumulate enough runs. Our bowlers did an exceptional job by limiting them to below 200. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan performed admirably. I must give credit to our bowling unit for bringing us back into the game at the halfway mark. We were feeling positive, but we didn’t get the power play start we needed, and they managed to slow us down in the middle overs. Unfortunately, we faltered towards the end,” Bravo stated during the post-match press conference.

He elaborated on their batting strategy, emphasizing the importance of a left-right combination to tackle the opposition's spinners effectively.

“We aimed to establish a left-right batting combination. Our team is fortunate to have skilled left-handers and right-handers in the top order. We try to leverage this advantage, especially against quality spinners, whether they are left-arm or leg spinners,” he added.

KKR's title defense continues to falter as their batting lineup struggled once again against a formidable Gujarat Titans (GT) team, who triumphed with a 39-run victory at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday.

GT, batting first, scored 198/3, bolstered by impressive half-centuries from captain Shubman Gill (90), Sai Sudharsan (52), and a powerful finish from Jos Buttler (41*).

In response, KKR could only muster a score of 159/8, with their captain Ajinkya Rahane (50) being the standout performer, as they faced tight bowling from Prasidh Krishna (2/25) and Rashid Khan (2/25).

Currently, KKR sits in seventh place with three victories and five losses, while GT remains at the top with six wins and two losses, accumulating a total of 12 points.
