Drew McIntyre Backs Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Ahead of IPL Eliminator
WWE Star Shows Support for RR's Sooryavanshi
Drew McIntyre, a three-time WWE Champion, has captured the attention of cricket enthusiasts in India with his recent post supporting Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. As the Rajasthan Royals (RR) prepare for their crucial Eliminator match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), McIntyre shared a workout video donning Sooryavanshi's RR jersey, captioning it with the phrase "Chosen one." This nickname was originally assigned to McIntyre upon his WWE debut, during which he faced challenges that led to his initial release. However, he made a triumphant return to WWE in 2017 and has since secured four world titles.
McIntyre has now extended this title to Sooryavanshi, who has made a significant impact since his IPL debut in 2025. The left-handed batsman accumulated 252 runs in his first season and became a key player in RR's lineup for IPL 2026, amassing 583 runs in just 14 matches. He is currently a contender for the Orange Cap.
Thanks to his impressive performances, Sooryavanshi is also in the running for a spot on the national team, having been selected for the India A squad in the upcoming tri-series against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A. Regardless of his performance in this series, he is anticipated to be included in the T20I team for the matches against Ireland and Zimbabwe.
Crucial Match for Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad
The IPL 2026 Eliminator is a critical match for both Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team that emerges victorious will continue their journey in the tournament, while the losing team will be eliminated. The winning side will need to secure one more victory to reach the finals. The team that wins this Eliminator will face the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the second qualifier, following GT's recent 92-run defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the first qualifier. RCB has already secured their place in the finals and will return to the field on May 31st as the defending IPL champions.
