Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans: Match Preview

New Delhi [India], April 8: In the third match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the Delhi Capitals (DC) won the toss and chose to bowl first against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday. A significant boost for GT is the return of captain Shubman Gill, who missed the previous game due to a muscle spasm.

Following the toss, DC's captain Axar Patel expressed confidence in their decision to bowl first, referencing their recent success in chasing targets and the potential moisture on a rain-affected pitch. He confirmed that the team lineup would remain unchanged.

“We will bowl first. We’ve had success chasing in our last two matches, and this pitch is fresh. Given the rain, there might be some moisture. Our strategy is to restrict their score and then chase it down. We analyze match-ups to challenge the batters and select our best bowlers. The same eleven will take the field,” Axar Patel stated during the toss presentation.

The Delhi Capitals have been impressive, winning both of their matches in the tournament thus far. They kicked off their IPL 2026 journey with a victory over the Lucknow Super Giants, followed by a commanding win against the Mumbai Indians.

On the other hand, the Gujarat Titans have faced challenges in gaining momentum. They lost their opening match to the Punjab Kings by three wickets and narrowly fell to the Rajasthan Royals by six runs in a thrilling last-over finish. As they prepare to face DC, they are eager to secure their first points of the season.
