Delhi Capitals Face Pressure in Crucial IPL Match

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 20: The Delhi Capitals (DC) are gearing up for a critical match against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, as they strive to secure a victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Reflecting on the season's challenges and the upcoming clash, Delhi Capitals' bowling coach Munaf Patel acknowledged the mounting pressure. He stated, “There’s definitely some pressure since this is a must-win game for us. A loss here would eliminate us from the tournament,” as per a press release from DC.

Patel also noted, “We have made some errors and missed opportunities, but the team spirit remains high, and we are optimistic. Our focus is solely on the next match.”

He praised wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul for his outstanding performance, saying, “He has been exceptional, adapting to various batting positions while consistently scoring runs. He has stepped up whenever the team needed him, contributing significantly.”

Regarding the absence of pacer Mitchell Starc, Patel remarked, “Starc has been a key player for us, known for his speed and swing. Playing in Mumbai, where conditions favor bounce and swing, his absence is felt. However, we will explore other options to fill that gap.”

Currently, the Delhi Capitals sit fifth in the points table, having accumulated 13 points from 12 matches.
