Injury Woes for Chennai Super Kings

In a significant blow to their campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have announced that all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh will miss the rest of the season due to a fracture in his right foot. This unfortunate injury occurred during his debut match against the Mumbai Indians on May 2.

CSK shared the news on social media, stating, "Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a fracture to his right foot during the CSK v MI match at Chepauk. He will take no further part in IPL 2026. Get well soon, Rambo."

Ghosh's injury adds to the mounting challenges faced by the five-time champions, who have already dealt with several player injuries, including those of fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed and key batsman Ayush Mhatre in recent weeks.

Before the season commenced, CSK's pace attack was already under pressure, with star bowler Nathan Ellis out due to injury and his replacement, Spencer Johnson, also unavailable for a significant period due to fitness concerns.

Additionally, the team has been without their veteran wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni, who has been sidelined with a calf strain since the season's start. Despite being part of the squad since March and participating in practice sessions, Dhoni has yet to play in any matches.
