Bhuvneshwar Kumar Reflects on Successful IPL 2026 Season After RCB's Victory
Bhuvneshwar Kumar's Impressive Performance in IPL 2026
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 1: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler, expressed satisfaction with his performance this season, finishing as the runner-up in the Purple Cap standings during the IPL 2026 tournament.
In a post-match discussion following RCB's triumph over the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2026 final, Bhuvneshwar stated, "Absolutely. The trophy is our top priority. I would gladly exchange personal accolades for it. However, I feel I had a good season individually. There was a lot of strategic planning before the season, and it paid off."
The seasoned bowler attributed RCB's success in the final to teamwork, saying, "When you take wickets, your confidence soars. Performing well in previous matches helps in crucial games. But the credit belongs to everyone. If Hazlewood struggled, I was there; if I faltered, Rasik stepped up. We supported each other, which is essential in high-stakes matches."
Rabada Claims Purple Cap Again
Kagiso Rabada secured the IPL 2026 Purple Cap for the second time in his career, making history as the fourth bowler to achieve this honor multiple times.
He joins an elite group of bowlers, including Dwayne Bravo (2013, 2015), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2016, 2017), and Harshal Patel (2021, 2024).
