Bengaluru Stallions Prepare for IGPL Season

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 17: The Bengaluru Stallions have officially announced their four-member team ahead of the second season of the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL), set to kick off on September 23.

The squad includes Trishul Chinnappa, Veer Ganapathy, Sunhit Bishnoi, and Sudhir Sharma, who were all present at the jersey unveiling event, as stated in a recent release.

The inaugural matches will take place in Ras Al Khaimah, while the Bengaluru Stallions will host their home leg of the 2026 AM Green IGPL Invitational at the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) from December 1 to December 5.

This season's lineup boasts a blend of seasoned players and emerging talent. Trishul Chinnappa brings extensive experience from both domestic and international competitions, while Veer Ganapathy, son of renowned golfer and coach Rahul Ganapathy, was the top-ranked junior golfer in India until last year.

Completing the competitive quartet are Bishnoi and Sharma, each contributing distinct skills to bolster the team's efforts. The IGPL is recognized as India's first franchise-based professional golf league.

In this league, ten city-based teams compete over a full season consisting of nine events. Each event spans three days, with a total of 54 holes, where the best two scores from each team's four players contribute to the overall team score.

Trishul Chinnappa remarked, “We are akin to an RCB, but in the realm of golf. The perception that golf is solely for the elite is evolving. India is transforming, and so is the sporting landscape. We have dedicated our lives to excel, and we all have stories to share, which is how we express ourselves,” as quoted in the release.

On the team dynamics, Chinnappa added, “Golf is traditionally an individual sport. We are accustomed to striving for personal success, but now we are focused on collective achievement. I am beginning to look out for my teammates, and this new perspective is growing stronger.”

Sunhit Bishnoi expressed, “Competing internationally can be quite costly. The IGPL provides juniors and amateurs with invaluable exposure. For instance, in Morocco, the windy conditions were unlike anything we experience in India. This platform is excellent for aspiring players to elevate their skills. We will each play our game, support one another, and aim for success throughout the season.”
