Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 24: Bengaluru FC has officially commenced their pre-season training in Bengaluru, gearing up for the 2026-27 Indian Super League (ISL) season.

The team is back on the pitch with fresh enthusiasm, bolstered by the recent signings of Spanish midfielder Borja Martinez and Portuguese defender Sandro Embalo. Both players are expected to join the squad in Bengaluru once their visa processes are finalized, as stated in a press release from the club.

Head Coach Pep Munoz expressed his excitement, stating, “This season is thrilling as we have a full schedule ahead, allowing us to fully harness the squad's potential. I eagerly anticipate what this season will bring for us.” This marks Munoz's first complete season with Bengaluru FC.

In the previous 2025-26 ISL season, Munoz led the team to a commendable fourth place, achieving two victories, three draws, and one defeat.

The squad is set to head to the Inspire Institute of Sport in Bellary for pre-season testing, where they will train from July 27 to 30, participating in a series of rigorous fitness assessments.

Darren Caldeira, the Director of Football at Bengaluru FC, shared his insights on the importance of pre-season, stating, “Following a brief ISL season last year, it’s crucial for the team to regroup and prepare for the upcoming challenges. This period allows players to enhance their fitness and readiness.”
