Although Mohun Bagan dominated possession and created several scoring opportunities, Bengaluru FC showcased a strong defensive display, marking them as the first team this season to earn points against the Mariners.


With this result, Mohun Bagan remains at the top of the standings with 13 points, while Bengaluru FC climbs to sixth place with eight points. Dimitri Petratos was named Player of the Match for his efforts.


Bengaluru FC's head coach Renedy Singh opted for an unchanged lineup following their victory over Mohammedan Sporting Club, with Sunil Chhetri leading the attack in a 4-3-3 formation. In contrast, Mohun Bagan's coach Sergio Lobera made two adjustments, introducing Tom Aldred in defense and Manvir Singh in midfield, while Jamie Maclaren led the attack in a 4-3-2-1 setup.


The match kicked off with both teams displaying high energy. Ryan Williams put pressure on Mohun Bagan's goalkeeper Vishal Kaith early on, forcing a low save just two minutes into the game after a setup from right-back Roshan Singh.

Both coaches made substitutions in search of a late winner. Substitute Monirul Molla attempted a long-range shot in the 81st minute but missed the target. Gurpreet then made another impressive save two minutes later, denying Rodriguez's header from close range.


As the match drew to a close, Mohun Bagan continued to press for a goal. Petratos saw a long-range effort go narrowly wide, and Rodriguez missed a close-range chance in the 90th minute following a corner.
