Bengaluru Blasters Secure Victory in Hubballi

Hubballi (Karnataka) [India], June 27: In an exciting match of the DACSS Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament, Bengaluru Blasters achieved a remarkable seven-wicket win against Shivamogga Yodhas on Thursday, as the tournament shifted its venue from Mysuru to Hubballi.

Facing a target of 174 runs, the Blasters maintained a steady pace, highlighted by Praveen Dubey's explosive 39 runs off just 15 balls, which included three fours and three sixes. Alongside captain Shubhang Hedge, who scored 11 not out off 12 balls, they formed a crucial partnership of 60 runs off 24 balls for the fourth wicket, ensuring their fourth win and solidifying their lead with eight points, according to a statement from the KSCA.

Rohan Patil, opening for the Blasters, set the tone for the chase with a solid 62 runs off 46 balls, featuring five fours and two sixes. He partnered with Bhuvan Mohan Raju, contributing to a 65-run opening stand in just 7.3 overs, as Raju added 29 runs from 23 balls.

Patil's aggressive batting style punished any loose deliveries, and he later teamed up with vice-captain Krishnan Shrijith to add 54 runs for the third wicket after Raju's dismissal. Patil was the primary scorer in this partnership, contributing 30 runs while Shrijith struggled to find his rhythm.

However, after Patil was dismissed at 119 in the 14th over, followed by Shrijith shortly after, the Yodhas seemed to regain some hope. Yet, Dubey and Hegde remained composed, guiding their team to victory with an over to spare.

For the Yodhas, Naveen MG, Yashovardhan Parantap, and Shreesha Achar each took a wicket.

Earlier in the match, Luvnith Sisodia scored 51 runs off 32 balls, marking his third half-century of the tournament, helping the Yodhas reach a total of 173 for six.

Other notable contributions came from K V Aneesh with 29 runs off 24 balls and captain Smaran Ravichandran, who remained unbeaten on 36 runs off 27 balls. Smaran played a vital role in stabilizing the innings after early wickets fell.

He formed two significant partnerships, first with Tushar Singh (17 runs off 13 balls) and later with Bheem Rao Navale (19 runs off 12 balls), which helped boost the total despite the Yodhas falling short by at least 20 runs.

Rohan Raju was the standout bowler for the Blasters, taking three wickets for just 21 runs.

With this defeat, the Yodhas now have three losses in five matches, remaining at four points and positioned fourth in the standings.
