Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], April 25: In a remarkable performance, opener Abhishek Sharma has surpassed New Zealand's Kane Williamson to become the third-highest run-scorer for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) during an IPL match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday.
Abhishek reached this achievement by scoring 57 runs off just 29 balls, hitting 11 fours and a six, and maintaining an impressive strike rate of over 196.
Throughout his career, Abhishek has played 82 matches and 79 innings, accumulating 2,133 runs with an average of 29.21 and a strike rate of 169.28. His record includes two centuries and two fifties, with a personal best of 141*. This performance has allowed him to outshine Williamson, who scored 2,101 runs in 76 matches and 75 innings, averaging 36.22 with a strike rate exceeding 126, including 18 fifties and a top score of 89*.
The all-time leading run-scorer for SRH remains their former captain, David Warner, who has amassed 4,014 runs in 95 matches and innings, averaging 49.55 with a strike rate of 142.59, featuring two centuries and 40 fifties, and a highest score of 126.

After facing a challenging period during the T20 World Cup and the initial phase of the IPL, where he recorded seven ducks—the highest for an Indian in a calendar year—Abhishek has made a strong comeback, amassing 703 runs in 21 innings at an average of 37.00 and a strike rate of 206.15, which includes one century and seven fifties.
In the match, after SRH chose to bowl first, RR's Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored a stunning 103 runs off 37 balls, supported by Dhruv Jurel's 51 runs off 35 balls, forming a 112-run partnership. A late surge from Donovan Ferreira, who scored 33 runs off 13 balls, helped RR reach a total of 228/6.
