Changes to IPL Final Ceremony in Ahmedabad

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had extended invitations to the heads of all three armed forces for the IPL final scheduled on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, recent updates indicate that Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh will not be attending the closing ceremony.

On Tuesday, BCCI Secretary Devjeet Saikia mentioned that the invitation was part of a celebration for the success of Operation Sindoor, aimed at honoring the valor, courage, and selfless service of the Indian Armed Forces. The closing ceremony was also set to feature performances by bands from all three services along with the Border Security Force (BSF).

Additionally, arrangements were made for 1,000 military officers, soldiers, and their families to have dedicated seating at the stadium. A large screen was also planned to showcase films depicting India's heroic tales. However, a source from the board revealed that changes were made following signals from the government on Thursday. Now, Bollywood singers will perform patriotic songs to engage the audience before the match begins.
