IPL 2026 Auction Details

The auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is scheduled to take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. A finalized list of players has been prepared for the auction, featuring a total of 350 players, which includes 240 Indian cricketers and 110 international players. Initially, 1,390 players registered for the IPL 2026 auction, from which 350 were shortlisted. This list also comprises 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped foreign players, adding fresh talent and depth to this year's auction.


Franchise Competition and Player Slots

Franchises will compete for a total of 77 slots, with 31 reserved for international players. The highest reserve price is set at ₹2 crore, with 40 players opting to participate in the auction. Nine players fall within the ₹1.5 crore range, while four players have set a reserve price of ₹1.25 crore. Additionally, 17 players have established their base price at ₹1 crore, and 42 players are in the ₹75 lakh category, with four choosing the ₹50 lakh option. Furthermore, seven players have a reserve price of ₹40 lakh, while the largest group, consisting of 227 players, is in the ₹30 lakh category.


Key Players to Watch

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green is expected to be among the most expensive players, as many teams will be looking to secure this aggressive all-rounder in the initial set. South African players Quinton de Kock, George Linde, and Sri Lankan Dunit Weerasinghe, who were not on the initial list, have now been included in the final team. Speaking at the 'Tata IPL 2026 Auction War Room,' expert Robin Uthappa commented on the bidding strategy for Cameron Green by Kolkata Knight Riders and the potential approach of Chennai Super Kings for the 2026 auction.
