BCCI Unveils IPL 2025 Playoff Schedule

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially released the schedule for the IPL 2025 playoffs. Following an exhilarating series of 70 league matches, the playoff games will take place in New Chandigarh. The first qualifier and the eliminator matches are set for May 29 and 30.

Currently, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore have already secured their spots in the playoffs. The final playoff position will be contested between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, with their match scheduled for Wednesday. If Delhi loses to Mumbai, they will be eliminated from playoff contention.

Initially, Hyderabad and Kolkata were slated to host the last four matches before a week-long suspension of the tournament. However, when the schedule was revised, changes were made to the venues. The IPL Governing Council decided on the new playoff locations considering weather conditions and other factors. Additionally, to accommodate potential rain delays, an extra two hours have been allocated for matches.

The 65th match of the IPL has been relocated from Bengaluru to Lucknow. In this match, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Sunrisers Hyderabad. Due to adverse weather conditions in Bengaluru, the game will now be held at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Similar to the playoffs, an additional hour will be granted for the remaining league matches starting from Tuesday, May 20, based on the playing conditions.
