IPL 2025 Final Scheduled for June 3

In a significant update, the final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is expected to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3. This decision follows a series of high-level discussions held by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on May 20.

The final, initially planned for May 25, was postponed due to a week-long disruption in the tournament caused by rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

Playoff Matches to Be Held in Mullanpur

According to reports from Cricbuzz, the BCCI has decided to host the first two playoff matches in Mullanpur, located in New Chandigarh. Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator are scheduled for May 29 and May 30, respectively. Following these matches, Qualifier 2 will occur in Ahmedabad on June 1, leading up to the final on June 3.

The Narendra Modi Stadium, renowned for hosting major cricket events, is the largest cricket stadium globally and is often selected for high-profile matches. The BCCI made its venue choices after reviewing weather forecasts to avoid potential disruptions from the monsoon season affecting other parts of India.

Concerns Over Kolkata as Venue

Previously, the BCCI had not confirmed the venues for the playoff matches and the final. There were concerns that the final might be moved from Kolkata due to the possibility of unfavorable weather conditions.
