Intense Clash Erupts Between South Africa and Bangladesh Players During Test Match

Brawl Breaks Out in Unofficial Test Match

A heated altercation took place between Tshepo Ntuli of South Africa and Bangladesh's Ripon Mondol during the second unofficial Test match at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, on May 28, 2025.

Bangladesh was batting first and had scored 286 runs for 8 wickets after 104 overs. South African off-spinner Tshepo Ntuli came in to bowl the 105th over. Ripon Mondol, batting at number 10, hit a massive six on the first delivery. As he returned to his partner Mehidy Hasan, he appeared to exchange glances with Ntuli. It remains unclear if any words were exchanged, but the ensuing events shocked everyone present.

Suddenly, Ntuli charged at Ripon, muttering something before pushing him and grabbing the grill of his helmet. In response, Ripon defended himself by pushing back. Umpires and South African players quickly intervened to prevent the situation from escalating further.

A short video clip of the confrontation, shared by a journalist, has gone viral, showcasing the intensity of the incident. Match officials are expected to file a report, and both Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are likely to take action following the report's submission.
