Indore's Ambitious Plans for Pickleball


Kulbhushan Singh Kukki, the president of the Madhya Pradesh Pickleball Association (MPPA), announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art pickleball stadium in Indore, aiming to position the city as a key player in India's pickleball scene. Currently, Indore is hosting the Surya Pickleball Tournament, which is sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association and classified as a PWR 100 event. The tournament commenced on March 27 at the Surya Pickleball Academy, featuring 90 participants competing in 18 different categories.


Kulbhushan expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Pickleball is rapidly gaining popularity in India, attracting players of all ages, from toddlers to seniors." He emphasized the significance of hosting a national-level tournament in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in Indore, and expressed a commitment to quickly establish international-standard facilities to promote the sport further.



With the local pickleball community expanding, Kukki is optimistic about Indore's potential to become a prominent name in Indian pickleball. He noted, "As more individuals join this movement, we are witnessing a surge in player participation. This tournament will also initiate a ranking system for players, marking a significant step forward for the sport's future in our region."
