IndiGo Flight Experiences Door Malfunction

On Wednesday, an IndiGo flight encountered a significant issue when its door failed to open for half an hour after landing at Raipur airport. Among the passengers was former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who, along with others, was unable to exit the aircraft.

Technical Issues Reported

The aircraft, identified as IndiGo flight 6E 6312, had arrived from Delhi. This incident has raised concerns among travelers, especially following the recent plane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12, which highlighted ongoing technical problems.

Reports indicate that other notable passengers included MLA Chatturi Lal and Raipur Mayor Meenal Chaubey.

Emergency Services Engaged

Despite multiple attempts by the crew to unlock the door, they were unsuccessful, as the cabin display did not show any indications related to the door's mechanism. Consequently, the emergency response team was summoned to assist.

Previous Flight Diversion Due to Security Issues

On June 17, another IndiGo flight, traveling from Muscat to Kochi and then to Delhi, was diverted to Nagpur over security concerns.

IndiGo flight 6E1272, which was en route from Muscat to Kochi, was redirected to Nagpur on Tuesday due to a security alert.

Safe Disembarkation of Passengers

The aircraft landed safely at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur, where all passengers were able to disembark without incident.

An IndiGo representative confirmed the security concern regarding flight 6E1272, stating, 'We received a security alert related to IndiGo flight 6E1272 from Muscat to Kochi, which was operating its next leg from Kochi to Delhi as 6E2706 on June 17, 2025. Following standard procedures, the appropriate authorities were notified, and the flight was diverted to Nagpur.'
