India's U-19 Cricket Team Set for England Tour Ahead of World Cup
India's U-19 Cricket Team to Tour England
Similar to the senior men's squad, India's Under-19 cricket team is scheduled to embark on a comprehensive tour of England this year. The senior team will engage in a five-match Test series starting June 20 in Leeds, while the U-19 team will participate in five one-day internationals and two unofficial Tests.
Potential Additions to the U-19 Squad
As reported by a leading news outlet on April 29, some promising players from IPL 2025, including 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi and 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre, might be included in the U-19 roster. This tour aims to prepare the team for the upcoming U-19 World Cup, which is set to take place next year in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
BCCI Source Confirms Tour Dates
A source from the BCCI stated:
"The India Under-19 boys will tour England this summer. The team will reach the UK on June 21."
Suryavanshi and Mhatre previously showcased their skills for the India U-19 team during the U-19 Asia Cup last December, where both excelled with the bat.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi's Historic Achievement
On April 28, teenager Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who plays for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, made headlines by becoming the youngest player to score a century in men's T20 cricket. He achieved this remarkable feat by scoring 101 runs off just 38 balls against Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
He reached his century in a mere 35 balls, surpassing Yusuf Pathan's record for the fastest IPL century by an Indian. His explosive innings included 7 fours and 11 sixes, equaling Murali Vijay's record for the most sixes in an IPL innings by an Indian batsman.
Ayush Mhatre's IPL Debut
Ayush Mhatre, representing Chennai Super Kings, made his IPL debut against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on April 20. Coming in at number 3, he scored 32 runs off 15 balls, which included four fours and two sixes, marking a promising start to his IPL career.
