Quarterfinals Defeat for India

In Yatsushiro, Japan, on June 29, India's run in the Badminton Asia Junior Mixed Team Championships concluded in the quarterfinals after a 2-1 loss to Hong Kong on Monday.


India kicked off the match with a strong performance, as Dev Ruparelia and Tanvi Patri secured an early advantage, leading 22-12 after the first two matches. The doubles teams maintained this momentum, winning the set with a score of 55-44.


However, the second game saw a shift in momentum as Hong Kong's Can Yee Hei triumphed over Ruparelia with a score of 11-8, allowing IP Sum Yau to extend their lead to 22-16. The Indian doubles teams struggled to recover, leading to a decisive match.


Ruparelia managed to regain the lead for India by defeating Chan 11-9, but Ip quickly narrowed the gap to 22-21.


The mixed doubles pair of Bjorn Jaison and Dianka Waldia kept India in contention with a narrow lead of 33-32, as their match against Cheung Sai Shing and Wing Chi Chu ended in a tie at 11-11.


Unfortunately, Tanvi Reddy Andluri and Baruni Parshwal fell to Chu and Yi Kiu Yu with a score of 5-11, sealing India's fate as they lost the set 55-43.
