India Claims T20 Series Victory Over England

The five-match T20 series between the women's teams of England and India has concluded, with India achieving a remarkable feat by winning the series 3-2, marking their first victory over England in this format.




Shefali Verma, who was dropped from the Indian team last year, made a significant comeback after impressing in domestic cricket and the WPL 2025, leading to her selection for the England tour. Her contributions were pivotal in securing the series win for India. As a result, Shefali has climbed four spots in the ICC Women's T20 rankings, now placing her in the top 10 at the 9th position. Throughout the series, she scored 176 runs at an impressive strike rate of 158.56 across five matches.


 


In the bowling rankings, Deepti Sharma from India has dropped one position to third, while Australia's Annabel Sutherland has moved up one spot to second. Sadia Iqbal remains at the top of the rankings. Lauren Bell's drop has allowed Sophie Ecclestone to rise to fourth, with her teammate following closely in fifth. Pakistan's Nashra Sandhu and Australia's Georgia Wareham are tied for sixth place.
