On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the Indian women's blind cricket team in Colombo, celebrating their remarkable achievement of winning the inaugural Blind T20 World Cup by defeating Nepal by seven wickets. This victory comes just days after the senior women's team secured their first win in the ODI World Cup, marking a significant moment for Indian women's cricket.

During the meeting, team members presented Prime Minister Modi with a signed cricket bat, while he reciprocated by signing a ball for the team.

Earlier, Modi had already congratulated the victorious team on their historic win. He expressed his admiration on social media, stating, 'Congratulations to the Indian women's blind cricket team for making history by winning the first Blind Women's T20 World Cup! Their unbeaten run throughout the series is commendable. This achievement exemplifies hard work, teamwork, and determination. Every player is a champion! I wish them all the best in their future endeavors. This accomplishment will inspire generations to come.'

In the final match held at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo, India restricted Nepal to 114 runs for five wickets before successfully chasing down the target, scoring 117 runs for three wickets in just 12 overs.
