Indian Shuttlers Unnati Hooda and Ayush Shetty Reach Taipei Open Semifinals

Taipei Open Semifinals: Aiming for Glory
On May 10, in Taipei, Indian badminton players Unnati Hooda and Ayush Shetty are set to compete in the semifinals of the Taipei Open this Saturday.
Both athletes are eager to secure their first title on the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Tour.
In the men's singles, Ayush triumphed over seventh-seeded Brian Yang from Canada with scores of 16-21, 21-19, 21-14, in a match that lasted one hour and 11 minutes, according to Olympics.com.
The 20-year-old shuttler previously defeated former world number one Kidambi Srikanth in the round of 16, following a victory against third-seeded Lee Chia-hao from Chinese Taipei in his opening match.
This marks Ayush Shetty's second semifinal appearance this year, having previously reached the semifinals at the Orleans Masters Super 300 in March, where he notably defeated former world champion Loh Kean Yew in the round of 32.
In the semifinals, Ayush will face top-seed Chou Tien-chen from Chinese Taipei, who advanced by defeating Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah from Indonesia.
On the women's side, Unnati, currently ranked 53rd, secured her place in the semifinals by overcoming world No. 65 Hung Yi-Ting from Chinese Taipei. The 17-year-old Indian player won the match in 52 minutes with scores of 21-8, 19-21, 21-19.
Unnati will compete against top-seeded Tomoka Miyazaki from Japan in her semifinal match. Earlier, she had a convincing win against Chinese Taipei's world No. 99 Lin Sih-Yun, finishing with scores of 21-12, 21-7.
