Celebrating the Indian Open's Success


Aditya Khanna, the CEO of the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), praised the partnership between the IPA and Global Sports, the organizer of the ongoing Indian Open, a PWR 1000 event taking place at CrossCourts in Hyderabad. This tournament has quickly become one of the largest pickleball events in India, featuring 1,100 competitors across 54 categories. The impressive turnout highlights the sport's rapid expansion in the country, drawing participants from various regions and age groups.


Khanna, who also serves as the General Secretary of the Asian Pickleball Association, remarked, "This is a significant event and a remarkable collaboration to host a PWR 1000 tournament. It ranks among India's top events." He commended Global Sports for their exceptional organization of such a large-scale event, noting that over 1,100 participants from more than 20 states are competing in various categories.


Discussing the partnership, Khanna, who is also the Asia Continental Director on the Global Pickleball Federation (GPF) Board, highlighted the importance of such collaborations in promoting the sport. He stated, "We are proud to be associated with this event and to witness the sport's growth across all age groups. This collaboration marks a promising beginning for future partnerships, and Hyderabad is a vibrant city for such events."


He also pointed out the excitement among fans and the local community, saying, "Many spectators are attending the event, which is fantastic for the city. Congratulations to Global Sports, the IPA, and PWR 1000 for uniting to create such a successful event," Khanna concluded. The five-day Indian Open will wrap up on April 5, showcasing the increasing popularity and acceptance of pickleball in India. With robust organizational support and growing player interest, events like this are pivotal in shaping the future of pickleball in the nation.
