Preparations Underway for Historic Series

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], June 10 - Ravikant Chauhan, the General Secretary of the Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI), expressed his heartfelt appreciation to ICC Chairman Jay Shah for his unwavering support in advancing disability cricket in India.


The Indian Men's Mixed Disability Cricket Team has kicked off its training camp in Jaipur in anticipation of a seven-match T20I series against England, set to commence on June 21.


During the training camp, Chauhan acknowledged the contributions of Jay Shah and the BCCI, highlighting their assistance in providing official merchandise and enhancing the profile of India's Mixed Disability Team.


Chauhan noted that disability cricket had faced challenges in securing support for many years, but since Jay Shah took over as BCCI secretary, he has been receptive to their needs, recognizing their dedication and offering help.


"The Indian team is now prepared to compete at Lord's," he stated.


He further mentioned, "The BCCI is managing all aspects as we gear up to face England in the Mixed Disability Cricket series. We anticipate significant support from the ICC in the future, and I am grateful to Jay Shah for his ongoing assistance."


In a show of continued support, the BCCI has supplied Kookaburra balls for the team's training and match readiness.


Captain Ravindra Gopinath Sante remarked, "Donning the Indian jersey and preparing to play at iconic venues like Lord's is a dream realized. We are committed to giving our utmost and making our nation proud."


Vice-captain Virender Singh added, "Thanks to the DCCI's efforts and the BCCI's backing, we feel recognized, valued, and ready to showcase our talents on the global stage."


At the Jaipur training camp, players are participating in rigorous batting and bowling drills, refining their skills and match readiness. Coaches, including Head Coach Rohit Jhalani, are providing guidance to prepare the players for upcoming challenges.


The camp, organized by the DCCI, is taking place at the Jaipuria Cricket Academy from June 8 to 13. All selected players have arrived in Jaipur and are engaged in intensive sessions focusing on physical fitness, match readiness, and team cohesion under the supervision of experienced coaches.


Head Coach Rohit Jhalani emphasized the importance of this training camp, stating, "This preparation is vital. The players are focused, determined, and ready to represent India against England in the series."


The Mixed Disability Vitality T20I series is set to kick off on June 21, 2025, in Taunton at 6:30 PM, with the second T20I scheduled for June 23 in Wormsley at 5 PM. The series will conclude with the seventh T20I on July 3 at 6:30 PM in Bristol.
