Indian Golfers Prepare for Australian WPGA Championship
Indian Team Prepares for the Challenge
Diksha Dagar is set to lead a formidable five-member Indian team at the upcoming Australian WPGA Championship. Currently ranked ninth on the LET Order of Merit, she will be joined by Pranavi Urs, Avani Prashanth, Hitaashee Bakshi, and Vani Kapoor. Both Diksha and Pranavi have achieved Top-10 finishes during their Australian tour. While Avani's performance has been average, Hitaashee is facing challenges, and Vani unfortunately missed the cut last week.
Hannah Green Aims for Third Consecutive Win
Hannah Green is at the forefront of a competitive field at this week's Australian WPGA Championship, as the Major champion seeks her third consecutive victory. Among the competitors is Shannon Tan from Singapore, who clinched the LET Order of Merit in 2025 and has notable wins, including the Hero Women's Indian Open. Green made headlines last week at the Women's Australian Open, becoming the first Australian since Karrie Webb in 2014 to win her home event. She finished with a final round score of 70 (-2) in Adelaide, narrowly defeating France's Agathe Laisne and fellow Australian Cassie Porter by just one stroke, finishing at 11-under par. This victory followed her seventh LPGA win in Singapore two weeks ago, and she is now aiming for a hat-trick as she competes again on the Ladies European Tour (LET) at Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club.
In the second edition of the Australian WPGA Championship, Green will play the first two rounds alongside her close friends, Stephanie Kyriacou, a two-time LET winner, and New Zealand's Amelia Garvey. The trio will begin their rounds at 7:05 am on Thursday, with Green anticipating an exciting couple of days ahead.
