Indian Duo Shines at US Open, Secures Gold in Under-18 Pickleball Doubles
Historic Victory for Indian Pickleball
Aditya Singh and Arjun Singh, two promising talents in Indian pickleball, achieved a remarkable feat by winning the Under-18 boys’ doubles gold medal at the US Open held in Naples, Florida. The young athletes triumphed over the top-seeded American duo, Ryder Brown and Soli Messiri, showcasing their rising prominence in the international junior pickleball scene.
This victory signifies a pivotal moment for Indian pickleball, as emerging players begin to challenge established competitors from traditional strongholds like the United States. Following their win, Suryaveer Singh Bhullar, president of the Indian Pickleball Association, expressed his confidence in India's future in the sport. He stated, “My predictions have come true: India is poised to dominate global pickleball. Our junior champions, Aditya and Arjun, have just proven this by winning gold at the 10th US Open against the top-seeded American team. This isn't merely a victory; it’s a declaration. I firmly believe that India’s first Olympic gold will originate from the pickleball courts.”
Additionally, 15-year-old Arjun Singh has been recognized as the Men’s Pickleball Player of the Year for 2025. The Mumbai native showcased exceptional skills during the inaugural season of the IPBL, where he was selected by the Bengaluru Blasters. Known for his dynamic and aggressive playing style, Arjun has the ability to control rallies and execute powerful shots effectively.
Prior to his IPBL success, Arjun gained attention by winning the men’s singles title at the IPA Nationals in Bengaluru last November, along with a silver medal in the men’s doubles category. His consistent performance at such a young age highlights his potential in a sport where maintaining excellence is often challenging.
