London [UK], June 11: The Indian cricket team is currently engaged in rigorous fielding practice, complemented by light-hearted exchanges among players as they gear up for the forthcoming Test series against England.


Fielding coach T Dilip led the training, which included exercises for catching both low and high balls, as well as aiming at the stumps from a distance. A video shared by the BCCI showcased vice-captain Rishabh Pant nearly hitting the stumps with his throw, expressing his frustration with a casual, 'Arey yaar.'

During the drills, Indian Test captain Shubman Gill praised his Gujarat Titans teammate Sai Sudharsan for a remarkable catch, exclaiming, 'Catching yaar.' The video concluded with Mohammed Siraj celebrating a successful catch with a joyful leap.


Following the recent retirements of batting stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from Test cricket, India finds itself in a transitional phase, relying on younger players to usher in a new era.


The five-match Test series against England is set to commence on June 20 in Leeds and will continue until August 2025. With the absence of experienced players like Rohit and Virat, the newly formed team under Shubman's leadership faces the challenge of performing in the demanding English conditions.


The matches will take place from June to August at various venues, including Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord's and The Oval in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester.
