Indian Boxers Arrive in Mongolia for Asian Championships Training Camp
Indian Boxing Team Begins Training in Mongolia
Ulaanbaatar [Mongolia], March 14: The distinguished boxing teams from India, both men and women, have landed in Mongolia to kick off an extensive training camp in preparation for the Asian Boxing Championships 2026, which will take place from March 28 to April 11, 2026.
The initial group of athletes includes well-known boxers such as Preeti (54 kg), Harsh Choudhary (90 kg), Jadumani Singh (55 kg), Sachin (60 kg), Deepak (70 kg), Ankushita Boro (65 kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70 kg), Jaismine (57 kg), and Nikhat Zareen (51 kg). They are accompanied by their support staff and have commenced their acclimatization process.
This Indian squad will engage in training sessions alongside competitors from various nations as they prepare for this significant continental championship. The event will offer winners a direct path to qualify for the upcoming Asian Games and Commonwealth Games later this year.
A second group of athletes and support personnel is set to leave for Mongolia on March 15 to join the ongoing camp.
In addition to the main team, boxers ranked second in Olympic weight classes and those ranked first in non-Olympic categories have also joined the training camp to enhance sparring opportunities and bolster the team's overall preparation.
The athletes are expected to train together until their return to India on March 28, 2026.
