Exciting Finals Await for Indian Shuttlers


Iowa (US): Indian badminton players Tanvi Sharma and Ayush Shetty have advanced to the finals of the US Open tournament, showcasing their remarkable skills in this Super 300 event.


The 16-year-old Tanvi, who entered the tournament unseeded, triumphed over seventh-seeded Polina Buhrova from Ukraine with a score of 21-14, 21-16 in the women's singles semifinal, completing the match in just 34 minutes. This victory marks her second win against Buhrova in their two encounters.


In the final, Tanvi will face the top-seeded Beiwen Zhang from the United States.


On the men's side, Ayush, seeded fourth, pulled off a significant upset by defeating the top seed and world No. 6, Chou Tien Chen from Chinese Taipei, with scores of 21-23, 21-15, 21-14 in a match that extended over an hour.


Ayush's next challenge will be against third-seed Brian Yang from Canada, who secured his spot in the final by overcoming Liao Jhuo-Fu from Chinese Taipei with a score of 21-10, 21-12.


Earlier in the quarterfinals, Tanvi had a strong performance against higher-ranked Malaysian player Karupathevan Letshanaa, winning 21-13, 21-16, while Ayush also excelled, defeating junior world champion Kuo Kuan Lin from Chinese Taipei with scores of 22-20, 21-9.
