India Secures Victory Against Pakistan
In a thrilling encounter in Amstelveen, India emerged victorious against their long-time rivals Pakistan, clinching a 5-3 win in their concluding Pool D match of the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup on Wednesday. Skipper Harmanpreet Singh and Abhishek each netted two goals, contributing significantly to the team's success.
Harmanpreet showcased his skills by converting two penalty corners, scoring in the fifth and 21st minutes. Meanwhile, Abhishek added to the tally with two impressive field goals at the 11th and 24th minutes. Additionally, vice-captain Hardik Singh found the back of the net with a penalty stroke in the 35th minute.
Pakistan attempted to close the gap with goals from Hannan Shahid in the 22nd and 46th minutes, along with a strike from Sufyan Khan in the 24th minute, but it wasn't enough to overcome India's lead.
