India's Performance on Day 3

On Day 3 of the Headingley Test, India managed to secure a slim lead after dismissing England for 465 runs. Despite some lapses in fielding, standout performances from Bumrah, who took five wickets, and Prasidh Krishna's crucial strikes kept India competitive. By the end of the day, India had reached 90/2, establishing a 96-run lead and setting the stage for an exciting Day 4.

Key Highlights from Day 3

1. India's fielding was below par, with several missed opportunities that allowed England's batsmen to capitalize. Bumrah, in particular, was denied the rewards for his disciplined bowling due to dropped catches.

2. Harry Brook was given a second chance when Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped a catch off Bumrah's bowling while Brook was on 83. In total, five catches were missed off Bumrah's deliveries, including three by Jaiswal, which proved costly.

3. Prasidh Krishna played a pivotal role by dismissing Harry Brook just as he was nearing a century. Brook had formed significant partnerships but fell short of the three-figure mark, caught out after attempting a big shot.

4. Jasprit Bumrah excelled in challenging conditions, taking five wickets and achieving a milestone as the first Asian bowler to reach 150 Test wickets in SENA countries.

5. Mohammed Siraj rebounded from a tough Day 2, claiming two wickets, including that of England's captain Ben Stokes, contributing significantly to India's bowling efforts.

India's Second Innings

India faced an early challenge in their second innings with the dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal for just 4 runs. However, KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan steadied the innings with a partnership of 66 runs before Sudharsan was dismissed for 30. With two wickets down before the end of Day 3, India will need a strong performance on Day 4 to maintain their lead.
