Suhl, June 20: The Indian contingent had another remarkable day at the ISSF Junior World Championship 2026 in Suhl, Germany, as they secured five additional medals on the second day of the event.

Sameer showcased an exceptional performance in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior category, clinching the gold medal with an impressive total of 28 hits in the final.

In the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior event, Rohit Kanyan also excelled, earning a gold medal and further boosting India's standing in the championship.

Prachi Gaikwad contributed to the medal tally by winning a silver medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women Junior event, finishing with a score of 354.7.

The Indian team continued to excel in team events, securing a bronze medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior Team competition. The team, consisting of Rohit Kanyan, Vedant Nitin Waghmare, and Hithesh Srinivasan, performed admirably to earn a podium finish.

Additionally, India claimed another bronze in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior Team event, with Sameer, Abhinav Choudhary, and Sahil Choudhary contributing to the team's success.

With five medals on the second day, India's overall tally at the ISSF Junior World Championship 2026 has reached eight medals (4 Gold, 1 Silver, and 3 Bronze) after just two days of competition. The Indian team has maintained its lead in the medal standings, demonstrating consistent excellence in both individual and team events.

Earlier, Sejal Kamble had already secured a gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Women Junior individual event, while her teammate Himanshi took home the bronze medal.

In a further celebration of success, India also won the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Women Junior Team event, with Sejal Kamble, Vanshika Choudhary, and Navya Bishnoi combining for a total score of 1700 to claim the top position.
