Devaijit Saikia, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has announced that the squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand will be revealed on Saturday.

In a statement, Saikia confirmed that the Indian Cricket Selection Committee for the Senior Men's team will convene on Saturday to finalize the team for the three-match ODI series, which kicks off on January 11 in Vadodara. He stated, "India will face New Zealand in a three-match ODI series starting January 11, and we will announce the squad after our meeting with the selectors this afternoon."

Importance of the Series and Key Players

This ODI series against New Zealand is significant for the Indian cricket team as they prepare for the 2027 ODI World Cup. India's previous ODI series was against South Africa, where they secured a 2-1 victory in the three-match series. Noteworthy performances came from veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, with Rohit scoring two fifties and Kohli achieving two centuries and a fifty, which earned him the Player of the Series title.

Schedule for the ODI Series

The first ODI between India and New Zealand will take place in Vadodara, followed by the second match in Rajkot. The final ODI of the series is scheduled to be held in Indore.

Update on T20I Series

Saikia also mentioned that one of the five matches in the T20I series against New Zealand will be hosted in Guwahati, with the T20I squad to be announced at a later date. He added, "The T20 series will consist of five matches, and one of them will take place in Guwahati. The team for this series will be revealed later."
