India Prepares for Crucial Third Test Against England at Lord's

Team India Arrives at Lord's for Third Test
On July 10, Team India made its way to the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London, gearing up for the third Test against England. The series stands at 1-1, following India's remarkable victory by 336 runs at Edgbaston.
Among the players spotted in the Shubman Gill-led squad were head coach Gautam Gambhir, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah, along with the coaching staff.
India has shown strong form at Lord's, winning two out of their last three matches during tours in 2014, 2018, and 2021.
In their last outing, Team India showcased exceptional batting and bowling, even in the absence of Bumrah. Captain Shubman Gill delivered outstanding performances, scoring 269 and 161 runs, while Mohammed Siraj took six wickets and Akash Deep achieved a ten-wicket haul in Birmingham.
For the upcoming Test, England has included Jofra Archer in their playing XI, replacing Josh Tongue, while Bumrah is expected to take Prasidh Krishna's spot in the Indian lineup.
Shubman Gill currently leads the run charts in the series, amassing 585 runs across two Tests and four innings, with an impressive average of 146.25 and a strike rate exceeding 73. His best score remains a marathon 269 runs off 387 balls at Edgbaston.
On the England side, seamer Josh Tongue has been the standout bowler, claiming 11 wickets in four innings at an average of 33.63.
Joe Root is on the verge of a milestone, needing just 45 runs to become the first player to score 3000 runs against India in Test cricket. Meanwhile, Gill requires only 18 more runs to surpass Rahul Dravid's 2002 record of 602 runs, which would make him the highest-scoring Indian batter in England.
Historically, India and England have faced each other 19 times at Lord's, with England winning 12 matches and India securing three victories.
