Manchester: On the opening day of the fourth Test against England, India found themselves at 149 for 3 at tea, having lost three crucial wickets during the second session.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 58 runs, KL Rahul with 46, and captain Shubman Gill, who managed only 12, were among those dismissed.
Jaiswal reached a milestone of 1,000 runs against England with his 12th half-century but was dismissed shortly after by spinner Liam Dawson, scoring 58 off 107 balls, which included 10 boundaries and a six.
Rahul fell to Chris Woakes after scoring 46 runs from 98 balls, hitting four fours.
Gill was out after misjudging a delivery from Ben Stokes, which struck him in front of the stumps.
At the end of the day's play, Rishabh Pant was not out on 3, while Sai Sudharsan remained unbeaten on 26.
