The men's team has shown similar consistency. Sachin and Narender have entered the Top 5 following a series of successful international performances, while Hitesh Gulia (70kg) holds onto his No. 6 ranking. Abhinash Jamwal (65kg) is ranked eighth, with Akash (75kg) and Lokesh (85kg) also breaking into the Top 10, further emphasizing India's competitive edge across various weight categories.
Ajay Singh, President of the Boxing Federation of India, remarked, "These rankings reflect the robust systems and structures established over recent years. Our focus has been on nurturing talent from grassroots to high-performance training. It is heartening to see a strong Indian presence in nearly every weight category at the global level, solidifying India's status as a leading boxing nation worldwide."
Currently, India ranks third overall in terms of Top-10 athletes globally, emerging as a formidable force in women's boxing, where it holds the second position, and a strong fourth in the men's category. Notably, India is third overall in the elite Top-3 bracket but leads the world in the women's category.
The depth of talent extends beyond the Top 10. On the women's side, Parveen (60kg) is ranked 13th, while Ankushita Boro (65kg) narrowly misses the Top 10 at No. 11. Saweety (75kg), Sakshi (54kg), Sanju (60kg), and Neeraj Phogat (65kg) continue to maintain competitive standings in the global rankings.
In the men's rankings, Ankush (80kg) is just outside the elite group at No. 11, with Deepak (70kg) at 12th. Jugnoo (85kg) is in 14th place, while Harsh Choudhary (90kg) is ranked 10th. Sumit (75kg) and Kumar Naveen (90kg) are both positioned at 18th, with Nikhil Dubey (75kg) and Vishal (90kg) tied at 22nd in their respective divisions.
India's remarkable ascent in the world rankings has been fueled by outstanding performances at the World Boxing Cup Finals, impressive medal collections at the World Championships, and consistent results across both elite and age-group competitions.
