Dubai: In a thrilling encounter, India's young spin duo, Shree Charani and Prema Rawat, delivered exceptional performances, leading India to a commanding seven-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Women's Asia Cup T20 on Saturday.

Harmanpreet Kaur, marking her milestone as the first international captain to lead in 150 T20Is, expressed her delight as her spinners dismantled the Pakistani batting lineup for a mere 55 runs in just 18.1 overs, marking their lowest total in T20 history.

Harmanpreet fittingly sealed the match with a magnificent six.

The Indian spin attack was spearheaded by 22-year-old Charani, who took 3 wickets for just 7 runs in 4 overs, while 24-year-old Prema claimed 3 wickets for 9 runs in her 4 overs. Shafali Verma, a part-time wrist spinner, contributed with 1 wicket for 10 runs in 3 overs.

Deepti Sharma also played a crucial role, finishing with figures of 2 wickets for 5 runs in 3.1 overs.

Despite losing early wickets, India chased down the target in just 8.4 overs. Harmanpreet (18 not out) and Deepti (12 not out) steadied the innings after a shaky start, ensuring a smooth finish.

The Indian women's team anticipated some practice ahead of the semi-finals, but the match turned out to be a one-sided affair, with India now boasting seven victories against Pakistan in T20 Asia Cup history.

Pakistan, opting to bat first, started confidently with openers Muneeba Ali (13) and Shawaal Zulfiqar (14) reaching 27 runs without loss in just over four overs. However, the rest of the batting lineup faltered, with no other player managing to score in double figures.

The wrist spinners, Shafali and Prema, maintained relentless pressure, attacking the stumps with precision. By the time Deepti entered the attack, the Pakistani team had already surrendered.

In a remarkable display, Indian bowlers delivered 78 dot balls throughout the innings.

Once Harmanpreet recognized the pitch's turn, she quickly introduced her spinners, leading to a dramatic collapse of the Pakistani batting order, which lost six wickets for just nine runs, leaving them at 36 for 6 after 10 overs.

Muneeba attempted to create room but was outsmarted by the bowling. Charani's impressive turn and bounce led to crucial wickets, while Deepti's off-break dismissed Pakistan's captain Fatima Sana for a duck.

The match concluded with a run-out and several players falling to poor shot selections, sealing Pakistan's fate before India even began their innings.
