India Takes the Lead in T20 Series Against West Indies
Indore: In an exciting match on Sunday, India triumphed over West Indies by 14 runs in the third T20 International, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
Facing a challenging target of 224 runs, the West Indies managed to score 209 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Shimron Hetmyer contributed significantly with 43 runs, while Kamil Pooran added 42 runs for the visitors.
On the Indian side, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh showcased his skills, finishing with impressive bowling figures of 3 wickets for 44 runs.
Earlier in the match, opener Abhishek Sharma played a blistering innings, scoring 69 runs off just 30 deliveries, helping India reach a total of 223 all out after being put to bat first.
Sharma's innings included six fours and five sixes, making it a standout performance.
Ishan Kishan also made a valuable contribution with 37 runs off 18 balls, while vice-captain Tilak Varma chipped in with 28 runs off 16 balls.
Nitish Kumar Reddy and Axar Patel added 21 and 20 runs, respectively, to bolster the team's total.
For the West Indies, Roston Chase and Shamar Springer each took two wickets, with Chase finishing with figures of 2 for 38.
India had previously won the first T20I by eight wickets in Lucknow, but the West Indies leveled the series with a six-wicket victory in Ranchi.
