India marked a significant milestone at the ISSF World Cup 2026 held in Munich, with Suruchi Singh taking home the gold medal and Esha Singh earning silver in the women's 10m air pistol event on Friday.
Impressive Final Performance
Suruchi, who previously secured three individual gold medals in the ISSF World Cup last season, demonstrated remarkable poise under pressure. She topped the final with a score of 242.1 points, showcasing her skill throughout the elimination rounds, according to reports from Olympics.com.
This victory represents Suruchi Singh's seventh medal in the ISSF World Cup series, enhancing her already impressive credentials, which include an individual gold at the ISSF World Cup Final in Doha last year. Additionally, this win guarantees the 20-year-old a spot in the upcoming ISSF World Cup Final set for December in Rome.
Esha Singh's Strong Performance
Esha Singh secured the silver medal with a score of 241.2 points, finishing just shy of her teammate in a tightly contested final. The reigning Asian champion continued her successful streak in Munich, having previously won the women's 25m pistol title earlier in the week with a world record score.
Bronze Medal and Notable Competitors
Choo Gaeun from South Korea took home the bronze medal with a score of 220.2 points. The final also included Celine Goberville, who won silver at the London 2012 Olympics, finishing in sixth place with a score of 158.6 points.
Qualification Round Insights
In the qualification round, Muskan was the top Indian shooter, finishing sixth with a score of 579-16x while competing under Ranking Points Only (RPO). Suruchi Singh and Esha Singh qualified in eighth and ninth places, respectively, both scoring 578.
Manu Bhaker, however, finished in 20th place with a score of 575-17x, missing her second consecutive final in Munich. She is set to compete next in the 10m air pistol mixed team event.
