Exciting Launch of the Vidarbha Pro T20 League

Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], May 17: The Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) has officially announced that the first edition of the Vidarbha Pro T20 League will occur from June 5 to June 15. This exciting event will take place at the state-of-the-art VCA Stadium located in Jamtha, Nagpur, marking a significant milestone in the cricketing landscape of the region.


The league will comprise six men's franchise teams and three women's teams, featuring a vibrant mix of up-and-coming cricketers, local talents, and experienced players from the Vidarbha area. The tournament aims to create a premier platform for nurturing local talent and enhancing the domestic cricket framework in Central India.


Prashant Vaidya, the Chairman of the Governing Council for the Vidarbha Pro T20 League, expressed his excitement in a press release, stating, “This is a landmark occasion for cricket in Vidarbha. The launch of the inaugural Vidarbha Pro T20 League is a long-awaited initiative to provide our cricketers with the exposure, competition, and recognition they rightfully deserve. We are dedicated to ensuring this tournament is world-class and a true celebration of local talent.”


Umesh Yadav, a prominent pacer for India and a stalwart of Vidarbha cricket, has been appointed as the League Ambassador. He shared his enthusiasm for the league's inception, saying, “It’s wonderful to see the VCA launching this league. I have always believed in the immense cricketing potential of Vidarbha, and this league will offer young players a chance to shine on a larger platform. I’m eager to see who steps up.”


Jhulan Goswami, the former captain of the Indian women's cricket team and a pace legend, is also serving as an ambassador for the league, particularly to promote the women's segment.
