ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 Sets New Digital Engagement Records

Unprecedented Digital Milestones for T20 World Cup 2026

Before the knockout phase even begins, the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 has already reached remarkable digital achievements. The governing body has reported that this edition has shattered engagement records on ICC.tv and across its social media platforms. Recent updates indicate that this tournament is on track to become the most globally accessible and technologically advanced ICC event ever.

A total of 20 teams participated in the tournament held in India and Sri Lanka, with India, England, South Africa, and New Zealand securing their places in the semi-finals. The ICC noted that increased viewing times, growth in non-traditional markets, and record numbers of concurrent streams have all contributed to this surge in engagement. Notably, India's win over the West Indies, which clinched the last semi-final spot, set a new record for concurrent streaming during the competition.

As of now, the 2026 edition has already surpassed the total user engagement and viewing minutes of the entire 2024 T20 World Cup, even with the knockout matches still pending. Unique users have risen by 28%, while total viewing time has increased by 56% compared to the same stage of the previous event.

The ICC also revealed that the current edition has achieved over 10 billion video views on its social media channels, with expectations to exceed the 16 billion views recorded in 2024. Furthermore, the average viewing duration per unique user has increased to 58 minutes, compared to 47 minutes at the end of the Super 8 stage in 2024.

Broadcasts in multiple languages, including Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Japanese, and Bahasa Indonesia, are available on ICC.tv, with three of the top five tournament streams being non-English. This linguistic diversity has facilitated better engagement with cricket fans from various backgrounds.

Non-traditional markets have seen the most significant growth, with a 69% increase in users. Countries like Japan and South Korea reported over 100% growth in both views and unique users, while Germany experienced a 150% increase in unique users since 2024, followed closely by Italy with a 136% rise. These trends, including record concurrent audiences and longer average viewing times, highlight the ICC's commitment to making the event more accessible and globally recognized.
