Shaheen Afridi was selecting the bowlers for the Babar Azam-led team in the 18th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, October 20. The left-arm fast bowlers bowled a brilliant spell while all other bowlers were taken to the cleaners.

After being invited to bat first, Australia got off to a flying start in the match as openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh played an aggressive brand of cricket. Both attacked Pakistan's bowlers and turned their good start into big scores.
Both Warner and Marsh batted brilliantly and completed their brilliant centuries to frustrate the opposition. They added 259 runs off 203 balls and laid the foundation for a total of over 400.
Shaheen Afridi equaled Shahid Afridi's record
Shaheen Afridi took the first wicket of the Pakistan team to help them stage a sensational comeback in the match. He started by dismissing Mitchell Marsh for 121 and then did not let the Australians breathe.
Shaheen Afridi dismissed Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc to take four more wickets to take his five wickets. In addition, Haris Rauf and Usama Mir took crucial wickets to ensure that Australia did not cross the 400-run mark. Australia were restricted to 367/9. Meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi equaled Shahid Afridi's huge record by taking 5 wickets. He has equaled his father-in-law Shahid Afridi's record for most wickets for Pakistan in World Cups as he has taken 25 wickets in both World Cups.
Shahin also equaled Mitchell Starc's massive record after his bowling brilliance. He equaled the record for most wickets by a fast bowler after 48 ODIs. He has taken 95 wickets in 48 ODI matches which Mitchell Starc previously took.
