Hyderabad, Telangana, is currently hosting the FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup Qualifying matches, organized by the Sports Authority of Telangana, attracting numerous distinguished guests.

Among the attendees was Mohammad Azharuddin, the Minister for Public Enterprises and Minority Welfare in Telangana, who served as the Chief Guest during the match between Uruguay and Austria. He expressed his support for the competing teams, as noted in an official statement.

Seethakka, the Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, also graced the event, highlighting the state government's dedication to fostering sports and facilitating international competitions.

Former Indian hockey captain and Padma awardee, Dilip Tirkey, was present at the matches, commending the tournament's competitive nature and the initiatives aimed at enhancing hockey's global presence.

Shiv Sena Reddy, Chairman of the Sports Authority of Telangana, along with various dignitaries and sports fans, showed their support for the international teams participating in the matches.
