India's Unbeaten Streak Against Pakistan Continues
The Indian men's hockey team maintained their impressive unbeaten record against Pakistan, achieving a commanding 7-1 victory in their second-to-last match of the 2025-26 FIH Pro League on June 26 at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in London. This win marks India's second triumph over their rivals within just four days, following a narrow 4-3 victory on June 23 at the same location. Dressed in white, India initially fell behind 1-0 as Abu Mahmood scored for Pakistan in the 13th minute. However, the Indian squad responded vigorously in the second quarter, with Sukheet Singh netting a goal in the 20th minute, followed by Harmanpreet Singh in the 26th minute, allowing India to lead 2-1 at halftime. An unfortunate incident occurred during the second quarter when Pakistan's Ahmad Nadeem sustained a serious injury after being struck in the eye socket by the ball, requiring him to be taken off the field in a wheelchair.
India's Offensive Surge in the Second Half
In the second half, India showcased their dominance, with Hardik Singh scoring in the 34th minute, followed by Jugraj Singh in the 35th minute, Abhishek in the 41st minute, and Raj Kumar Pal in the 44th minute, all contributing to a flurry of goals in the third quarter. Dilpreet Singh capped off the scoring with a goal in the 54th minute of the final quarter.
India's Record Against Pakistan
In their last 19 encounters, India has emerged victorious in 17 matches, while Pakistan has yet to secure a win. India's winning streak began on April 12, 2016, during a Sultan Azlan Shah match in Kuala Lumpur. The last time India lost to Pakistan was at the 2016 South Asian Games held in Guwahati.
This latest result leaves Pakistan winless in all 15 matches of the ongoing tournament, placing them at the bottom of the standings, while India sits in seventh place with 17 points, having won four matches outright and one in a penalty shootout.
