Exciting Matches on Day Four of the Championship
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India] - On the fourth day of the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship, teams showcased impressive performances, with Hockey Mizoram, Chhattisgarh Hockey, Hockey Gujarat, and Manipur Hockey all securing victories in their matches.
In a thrilling encounter, Hockey Association of Bihar and Hockey Uttarakhand ended in a 3-3 draw. Ankit (12′, 19′) and Kunwar Manish Singh (25′) found the net for Hockey Uttarakhand, while Amritanshu Pandey (21′, 57′) and Kumar Amirchand (37′) scored for Hockey Association of Bihar.
The final match of Division 'C' featured a remarkable display by Hockey Mizoram, who triumphed over Tripura with a staggering 15-0 score. Malsawmkima (3′) opened the scoring, followed by five goals from Vanlalhmangaiha (20′, 29′, 34′, 37′, 39′), four from captain Joseph Malsawmtluanga (24′, 48′, 53′, 54′), two from Lalmalsawma (56′, 60′), and one each from Lalvenpuia (42′), Laldampuia Pachuau (23′), and Lalhruaipuia (58′).
In the opening match of Division 'B', Chhattisgarh Hockey dominated Hockey Arunachal, winning 4-0. Adarsh Raj Singh (8′, 18′) scored twice, while Manish Vatti (33′) and Abhishek Yadav (49′) added one goal each to secure the victory.
Next, Hockey Gujarat faced Goans Hockey in a closely contested match, winning 5-3. Sanjay Khersing Patel (5′, 15′, 56′) scored a hat-trick, giving Hockey Gujarat an early lead, but Goans Hockey fought back with goals from Suraj Sudhir Kharsel (21′) and Gaonkar Ansh Ankush (16′, 44′). Ultimately, Captain Piyush Patel (42′) and Alpeshbhai Vala (53′) helped secure the win.
The final Division 'B' match saw a fierce battle between Kerala Hockey and Manipur Hockey. The teams were tied until the last minute when Manipur Hockey clinched the win with a goal from Manimatum Maibam (60′), following an earlier goal by Lisham Max Singh (35′). Rohit Baxla (17′) had scored for Kerala Hockey.
