Quarterfinals Set for Junior Men’s Hockey Championship


Odisha: In a thrilling day of matches, Odisha, Manipur, and Jharkhand secured their spots in the quarterfinals of the 15th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship held on Monday.


Madhya Pradesh also advanced after finishing their pool stage with a 3-3 draw against Tamil Nadu, benefiting from a superior goal difference.


The eight teams that have qualified for the quarterfinals include Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Manipur, Odisha, and Karnataka.


Odisha dominated their match against Andhra Pradesh with a staggering 10-0 victory, while Manipur triumphed over Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey with a score of 5-1 in Pool C. Jharkhand also had a successful outing, defeating Maharashtra 5-3 in Pool B.
