Championship Highlights


Jalandhar: In an exhilarating finale, Hockey Haryana triumphed over the Hockey Association of Odisha with a score of 3-2 to secure the title at the 15th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2025 held in Jalandhar, Punjab.


In the bronze medal match, Hockey Punjab edged out Uttar Pradesh Hockey 4-3 in a dramatic shootout after the teams ended regulation time tied at 3-3.


The final match began with both teams exchanging possession without scoring. However, the Hockey Association of Odisha took control in the second quarter, with Deepak Pradhan (17') and Pratap Toppo (19') converting two penalty corners to establish a 2-0 lead.


Despite maintaining their lead through the third quarter, Hockey Haryana made a remarkable comeback in the final quarter. Chirag (50') initiated the scoring for his team with a penalty corner goal, followed swiftly by Nitin (51', 60') who netted a field goal to equalize.


In a thrilling conclusion, Nitin showcased his skills by maneuvering past two defenders and launching a long-range shot that clinched the championship for Hockey Haryana.


In the 3rd/4th place match, Uttar Pradesh Hockey struck first with Satyam Pandey (8') scoring from a penalty corner. Hockey Punjab responded with two goals from Lovenoor Singh (21') and Japnit Singh (28', 59') to take the lead.


Uttar Pradesh Hockey regained the advantage with goals from Ujjwal Pal (48') and Fahad Khan (57'). However, Japnit Singh's penalty stroke in the final moments sent the match to a shootout, where Hockey Punjab emerged victorious with contributions from Charanjeet Singh, Lovenoor Singh, Om Rajnesh Saini, and Sunny.
