Training and Future Aspirations
At just 17 years old, Himanshu began his javelin training five years ago, initially practicing in his village before moving to the SAI Centre in Hissar. In an interview with SAI Media from Saudi Arabia, he expressed his excitement for the upcoming Khelo India Youth Games in Bihar, scheduled from May 4 to 15. "Winning gold for my country has been an incredible experience, but it required immense dedication and support from my coaches to reach this level," he stated.
Inspiration and Goals
Himanshu aims to impress talent scouts at the Khelo India Youth Games and the Junior Nationals. He praised the Khelo India initiative, emphasizing its importance for young athletes to contribute to the nation. His previous personal best of 74.56 meters was recorded at the National Junior Athletics Championships in December 2024. He looks up to Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, admiring his work ethic and humility. "Neeraj is not just an inspiration for me but for the entire nation. His achievements are remarkable, and I strive to emulate his composure during competitions," Himanshu remarked.
